TITAN ‘proves’ itself in major Australian bakery expansion
With demand for popular bread brand Tip Top’s products growing, more cold storage space was needed for ingredients. TITAN’s modular Arctic SuperStore was the perfect choice.
The challenge
Expanding a business is always a challenge – and never more so if expensive hardware is required to be able to grow. If that expensive hardware happens to be cold storage, TITAN has you covered with a range of flexible rental options that make budgeting easy.
Australian client Tip Top needed a more flexible solution than most when they reached out to explain they needed portable freezer storage that could be installed at one site today and then moved to a new site being upgraded a short time later.
The solution
Tip Top needed a lot of extra space to help keep up with demand for their sliced bread and rolls. Rather than investing in multiple standalone containers, they were keen to see what our modular solution – the Arctic SuperStore – could offer. These can be built in any shape or size, and by leaving all sides of the internal containers open, they form a large cold-storage warehouse.
Mindful of the client’s need to move storage capacity between sites, we suggested two separate Arctic SuperStore spaces, each comprising 6 x 40ft containers.
The delivery
All 12 containers were transported to Tip Top’s depot near Perth and installed as two standalone, portable cold storage warehouses. Unlike containers delivered in the UK and many other parts of Europe, which typically arrive on Hiabs, the system in Australia is a little different. There, the containers were delivered via side loaders and placed into position with a Franna crane – a surprisingly compact vehicle not much bigger than a tow truck.
The results
The customer reported they were delighted with their Arctic SuperStores. They were especially impressed by the high levels of safety that come as standard, including trapped person alarm, escape hatches and flat floors for easy, safe loading.
They also took out a subscription of our remote monitoring SmartArctic system, which, they were happy to tell us, quickly turned out to be a huge time saver by eliminating the need for someone to physically visit the containers to check on the temperatures.
